WiFi range extender

My wife is complaining that the streaming to her iPad is pretty bad when she sits at the far end of the house (the farthest distance from the router). I picked up a
D-Link DAP-1520 Wireless AC750 Range Extender (DAP-1520)
from Costco yesterday for only $49.99 (it is $74.65 from Amazon) and she is not having any problem anymore. The wireless symbol is in full blast.

The set up is relatively easy except that the little card that come with the box gave me some confusing login information. But when I login to the internet site, it resolved that issue.

The only drawback I see is it created a new connection (XXXX-EXT). So it would create a problem transferring file with another computer that connceted to the original connection.

Transferring files shouldn't be a problem, both devices would be on the same broadcast domain and it should function similarly to having them all just wired into the router/etc.

Different SSID isn't a big deal if they're all tied into the same subnet/VLAN, which is the out of the box configuration :)

Good to see OP's comment about the D-Link. I've got a Netgear N300 Extender and performance has been spotty at best, so I'm looking for something better. Like OP, I need service from one corner of the house to the opposite corner (router is in office, need WiFi in bedroom). I'm gonna check our local Costco and see if the D-Link is available here.
