128 x 4 with 64 x 8

OK so i have a gig of DR 3200 ram and im pretty sure its low density as its quite old - will it work with another gig of memory that is high density?

Any way of finding out all of the info of my ram (other than cpu z)

Yes you should be able to do that, just have a look at your motherboard manual. It usually tells you the specifications of what the RAM will and will not run at with different configurations.

Nope the manual only says it supports up to 4 gb or RAM 184 pin notihing about density - says compatability models on website but the page doesnt exist

Usually if you have all 4 ram slots filled with high-density RAM, then it will run at a slower speed, but if you only have two slots filled then it should work at PC3200.

It may and may not, I have a feeling it wouldnt run in dual-channel but i'm not entirely sure. It also depends on the brand of both, and their specs and such.

i reckon i may aswell try and if doesn't work either return it to e buyer [they wont mind] or throw out my old stick and get another new 1gb when i have money.

Do you know if NF4 sli chipsets accept high density?
