Will 3.5" sata enclosure work with Windows 8?

Hello all, I'm new to the forum, so many thanks for reading!

I have a Western Digital essential 'my book' 500GB hdd. which recently 'broke' (power problem). So, I've removed the hdd from the case and am now looking for 3.5" sata enclosure to connect it to my laptop with. Something like this below:

However non of the items I am finding on ebay and Amazon appear to be compatibale with Windows 8. I don't really understand how something can be compatible with W7 but not W8. I have emailed the sellers and they confirm "not compatible with W8". Surely this is just inaccurate info, maybe based on pre-Windows 8 packaging?

And ideas' guys?

It should work just fine with windows 8. Most likely the product was made before windows 8 came out. And yes anything compatible with 7 should be compatible with 8.
 
While I don't have that particular enclosure, I do have a number of enclosures for both 3.5" and 2.5" drives and regularly use them on both Win 7 and Win 8 machines without issue. I doubt there is any enclosure that would work with Win 7 but not Win 8.
