will 64bit software run on my 32bit system?

32bit software will run natively on a 64bit system but 64bit software will not run on a 32bit system. You need a 64bit processor and 64bit compatible OS, one example stated above, to run 64bit apps.

Just to confirm, that is true.

windows xp x64 can run both 64-bit and 32-bit apps
but if you are using windows xp with a 64-bit processor you are just running at 32-bit mode
somebody follow up....

But what about Vista I know it supports 64bit?
will they design it to do both or will they sell 32bit and 64bit?
