will 64bit System produce more heat than 32bit

The operating system in and of itself should have little effect on heat-generation.

If you use the machine more, then there will be more heat.

If you know you need a better cooling solution, then I recommend you tackle that problem sooner rather than later.

used it before for 32bit and was hoping to improve performance when converted to 64bit

32-bit can address 3.25 GB of RAM. 64-bit can address 128 GB of RAM. You won't see much of a difference unless you are maxing out your RAM.

But if you have a OEM product key, all you need to do is install 64-bit and then use the same product key. The product key is not tied to the 32-bit or 64-bit version, just the computer.
