Will a new motherboard increase performance?

Hi I want to buy this motherboard :ASRock K10N78M AM3/AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 8100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard.

I currently have this one:MCP61SM-AM AM2 motherboard.

I am wondering if the motherboard alone, with its chipset and on board graphics will improve my pc performance. I will keep my memory and cpu from my other motherboard.

I dont want to buy a new am2 cpu for my old motherboard for upgrade, I would rather start with a new motherboard and upgrade to a AM3 somewhere down the road.

For starters, steer further from asrock motherboards, look for a gigabyte/asus/msi/dfi/etc. Unless your using onboard graphics then no, you wont see an increase in performance.

At least something like this:

Or one of these:

If you need onboard graphics:

I am counting on the onboard graphics of the new motherboard I will buy, currently I have a geforce 7600gs not exactly powerfull. The onboard video graphics of a am3 motherboard should surpass it right?

Considering the previous advice I've chosen this motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-MA78GPM-UD2H AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard with an AMD 780G Chipset.

A board that is micro atx. am2/am2+/am3. And not an "Asrock" like bomberboysk suggested.

Not at all, the 7600gs is much more powerful than any integrated graphics actually.

I dont get it. This model mobo (Brand MSI Model NF750-G55) specifically says: Onboard Video Chipset NVIDIA GeForce 8200

your telling me this doesent compare to a video card GeForce 7600gs? Onboard video even if more advanced isnt in the same category as video cards?

No, because imbedded graphics chips control more than just graphics.

A dedicated graphics card does only graphics.
