will am3 work on am3+ board?

yes, only real diff from am3 to 3+ is addition of 2 pins and new chips with some added coding for highre ram speeds defaultly and the bulldozer chips, i'm sure there are more diffs but that's getting too technical for my tastes at this hour

oh and wayyyy higher bandwidth on the northbridge too, almost forgot that, gives you more x16 and x8 lanes than before
