will any 184-pin ddr 3200 memory work Compaq Presario SR1630NX

i just got a Compaq Presario SR1630NX and im kinda confused, im wondering if i need a specific type of 184-pin ddr memory for it. or i can just go and buy any 184-pin ddr memory

Any DDR RAM will work in that machine. If you buy a stick slower than PC3200, all the RAM will run at the slowest speed though.

i would imagine any non-ECC, unbuffered 184pin DDR memory will work.

ok guys, the computer comes with 512mb ddr (256mb*2) im thinking about buying a pair of 512MB to add to it. which will equal to 1.5gb. would that work in the computer. 2 stick of 256mb and 2 of 512mb.

you would have to see what your mobo manual says. or check out the mobo make & model# website....i would certainly do that first b4 purchasing a gig of ram.....paul
