I was trying to see if I could use my old 775 motherboard with a newer C2q CPU?....
Will ANY 775 motherboard support any 775 CPU?

Please don't double post. I have found more information on your problem. Please read it here at the bottom.
The board you have is listed as FSB 1066/800MHz on Newegg. That means that Quad Core is out for 800MHz and 1066MHz (if applicable) only works with the Q6600. Once again from what I have found, I wouldn't run a Quad Core on this board.

Actually this is not a double post
this is a more generalized version of the question I asked before...
yes I know that the q6600 would be my best option...but why would you not run a quad core on this board?
I just wish someone would tell me if they did something like this or have heard of it working at least....

The chipset (Northbridge/Southbridge) may not support the CPU you wish to upgrade to. You should also check with your motherboard manufacturer to determine whether or not the new CPU you want to get is supported in the latest available BIOS update.

I have told you many times what you need to do. From what I have found on the internet, this board isn't good for Quad Core CPU's. Either contact the manufacturer or continue at your own risk. The CPU requires more power than that board can support.
And this is a double post, they both pertain to the same exact topic.
