Will any surge protector works?

Just wondering i am using an old surge protector for my old PC. Will that surge protector work fine with my new PC?
 
Surge protectors are basicly power strips. and has a very low protection rating.
but yes it will work but its best to get a UPS.
at least get new surge protector with the highest suppression rateing you can afford.
but any is better then none
 
This is quite funny. I found a surge protector once that said it was raited for a Celeron 300MHz computer. If you had something higher, you were suppose to get a more expensive protector :P yeah, right...

Any protector should be basically the same. Of course you can check their ratings and all, but for non-battery backup systems, it really shouldn't matter what's plugged into it.
 
if you want to really secure it. get solar panels and have it run your computer :D (have my own small one charge my cell every night. I feel i am helping the earth... kinda)
