Surge protectors are basicly power strips. and has a very low protection rating.
but yes it will work but its best to get a UPS.
at least get new surge protector with the highest suppression rateing you can afford.
but any is better then none
This is quite funny. I found a surge protector once that said it was raited for a Celeron 300MHz computer. If you had something higher, you were suppose to get a more expensive protector yeah, right...
Any protector should be basically the same. Of course you can check their ratings and all, but for non-battery backup systems, it really shouldn't matter what's plugged into it.
if you want to really secure it. get solar panels and have it run your computer (have my own small one charge my cell every night. I feel i am helping the earth... kinda)
