Will Comcast Encrypt Digital Signal?

I was told once the tv signal is changed from analog to digital, Comcast will encrypt the signal, and you can only record tv with a Comcast recorder. Is there any truth to this?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. Comcast is one of the most crooked companies out there.
