Will CrossFireX be affected?

It doesn't look like you can crossfire on that board according to AnandTech's review on it:

ATI Hybrid CrossFireX support is featured on this board.

Just check Wikipedia on what Hybrid CrossFireX is, I'm not so sure. It has to do with intergrated GPU's and not dedicated ones, so don't take my word on it supporting crossfire

should i buy a mobo that is dual at 16x16 or 8x8, is it a major difference or is it just not worth the 50$ extra?

Its not a CrossfireX board. Its a Hybird CrossfirsX board meant to use the onbard with a certain video cards.

For starters there are the dual graphics PCI Express slots except they're not, not really. 780G/785G supports 22 lanes of PCI Express for expansion cards with 16 lanes reserved for the graphics slot so the second long PCI Express slot you see in the pictures only gets four lanes. Quite simply, there is no prospect of CrossFireX on offer with 785G.

If you want a CrossfireX board you need a 790X/790GX or 790FX chipset board.
