Will I notice a difference really if I lose Dual Channel in my RAM?

OK, here is the story. 1, I want 3GB of RAM. Why? Well,
1. When I play games I can see on my G15 keyboard that I use 98% of my RAM.
2. I want to get vista one day
3. new hi end games will use more RAM, thus, making the problem worse. I have 2GB right now, so, weather you think its dumb to get more RAM cuz of this, I don't care. Just need help on my question

"Will I really notice that much if I lose dual channel" and what will I notice about this.

well, if you ahve more ram, then its better than dual channel. in a way, doesnt dual channel compensate for the fact that you dont have more ram?

1.5 gigs of ram is better than 1 gig dual channeled ram. however, 2 gigs of dual channeled ram i think gives like 5-15% performance increase as opposed to a single dimm that isnt dual channeled. Ground breaking increase? No. But infinitely better than no performance boast whatsoever...

Not really a big diff, since you have 2Gb in 2 modules right now, just grab another set of sticks. Make sure you match the different sticks in a different channel, have your present set in channel 1 and new set in channel 2. Grab a 2Gb set instead of 1Gb, run 4Gb.

K. I would buy 2 more GB of RAM, but, 32bit XP only supports 3.75GB i think...and no dual channel any way. And, also, does Vista 32 Bit support 4GB or more? (to what maximum, i duno)

XP supports 4Gb, you have to change some parameter in the Boot.INI. However, it will only show that you have 3Gb. Check this out http://www.brianmadden.com/content/article/The-4GB-Windows-Memory-Limit-What-does-it-really-mean-

Vista is the same, I think that is the limit of all 32-bit OS's.
