How do I determine whether the:

XFX GeForce® 8800 GTX 768MB (Direct X10)
Will work with my motherboard?
Its a brand new PC.
PCI Express etc.
2gb Ram stock.
Dual Core cpu

So is there any chance the motherboard can't handle it if its coming with all that other stuff stock?
 
You forgot to mention what make and model board you are talking about here. That will help by looking over the specifications and general information on it.
 
That model does have a PCI-Express slot available since you are probably running the onboard video at the moment. Being that it is an updated model and Vista ready DX10 wouldn't be an issue with Vista installed onto it. DX 9L is the one item being comtemplated that supposedly would allow DX10 games to run on an XP system. If the card require DX10 you would need to upgrade to Vista before being able to use a new DX10 model. DX10 is still unavailable at the moment pending the release of Vista most likely.
