will kaspersky get rid of botnets?

You can use Kapersky and other tools (Malwarebytes and Superantispyware) to rid viruses, trojans, malware, etc from your machine. Getting rid of entire botnets requires completely different tactics.
what would those tactics involve? i have a big ass botnet on my computer that i would really love to get rid of so that i can xfer my music onto my new lappy but the botnet wont even let me install norton, say that the administrator wont let me do it... i assume the botnet has taken ova admin
A "botnet" is a collection of infected computers being bent to the will of malfeasants. You computer may be a part of a botnet, or just simply infected with a nasty bug.
I suggest reading this notice first. I also recommend Superantispyware in addition the the Malwarebytes suggestion. Avoid Norton if you can. AntiVir or AVG are excellent free alternatives.
