Just wondering if a notebook bought in Canada will work just as well (including charging the batter just as quick) in Europe (Germany, Holland, Spain)? (Thinking of getting an Acer Travelmate)
Do I just need a power adapter? I know my hairdryer with an adapter didnt work as well in Europe.

Also, are laptops in Canada cheaper then in Germany or Spain? Thinking of getting one once Im there incead of buying one here in Canada but not sure what the prices are for a computer with the exact same specs.

Thanks for any info.

You shouldn't need an adapter for the charger, it should run anywhere between 110V and 240V

I doubt that they are cheaper. Are you ordering from an online site? You might be able to take advantage of the exchange rates, but I doubt it.

I do need something cause its 240v and its a different plug system.

You will be able to either buy a new lead (the bit that plugs into the power brick), or you can just get travel adapters for each country you visit.

I'd go with the latter, as you can also use the adapters for other things like phone chargers, and your iPod as well.

I brought lots of electronics to England before. All you need is the converter. Though most converters don't work with grounded plugs...at least the ones I've used.
