Will my 1.65v RAM work?

I know that usually the motherboard manufacturers are just trying to scare us, but i don't want my new RAM to not work.
I can always lower the Vs in the BIOS anyway though right?

Hi fastdude. I have worked with a lot of people who have had issues with their RAM and motherboard memory voltages, i.e. memory designed for a certain voltage but motherboard is not designed to take saiud voltage resulting in system crashes. I would not chance it since Gigabyte makes it clear that this board is designed for memory designed for 1.5v.

Perhaps the motherboard will clock it down to 1.5 but if it was me I wouldn't do it. Checking the memory support list there is absolutely no indication that this board is designed for 1.65v. Just my 2 cents worth.

It seems all the "i" RAM is sold at 1.5v. At some point too high voltage fries the CPU because the OBMC. That said generally seems 1.65 is considered safe. Some say what the real issue is, is the ratio between the VDIMM voltage and the QPI/VTT and the gap should not exceed .5v.

But I think what needs to be clear is the voltage is not a MoBo issue it is a CPU issue. The MoBo is made for "i" so it follows Intels design specs?
