On my fathers Pc, i can play halflife 2 on 1280 x1024 with all the details on high.. while his fx card is just a geforce 4 Mx 440. the only lag i expirienced was at the end, when you go through that big halls with all these gunships (and other creatures.) i can play it at 34fps.

Either your over exaggerating or your not running a MX440.

yes but with lowercased fx it coulda been "effects card" which is what some people call their video cards (god knows why)
