Will my laptop work with 4K60hz monitor?

Hey all,

I've got a Dell G5 15 Gaming (5500) laptop and I also have a 40" Philips BDM4065UC. I would like to hang the monitor in my room and connect my laptop to it, to watch movies from bed. The monitor supports 4K60hz but only if you use a 1.2 DisplayPort or better (no HDMI can support 4K60hz). The issue is, my laptop has only HDMI, USB-A and USB-C ports. Is there any type of cable I can use to hook up my monitor to my laptop without sacrificing the 60hz? The cable also has to be long, 10-12 meters.

That length is probably a killer. There's some fiber extenders that can leverage single mode fiber up to like 10km but they're thousands of dollars for 4k60. USBC to DP are easily obtainable within those parameters but won't achieve that length.

If you can abstract USBC to DP with an adapter you might be able to use a fiber optic based DP<>DP cable to attain those which would be around $90.

no HDMI can support 4K60hz
