will my videocard allow me to put 2 monitors on it

i have an ati radeon X300 and it has a dvi and vga output and i was wondering if i could hook up a second monitor to it i already have a dell 19inch in the dvi but i want to put a second crt 17inch dsub in there but i cant figure out how to do i have both of them in their slots but only one monitor works my dell

can you help me figure this out
 
If it has both VGA and DVI outputs, then yes, one can have two monitors. Obviously one of each, LCD and CRT. On your desktop, right click on PROPERTIES and hit the SETTINGS tab. The on the "2" box, right click, and hit ATTACH. You'll have your dual monitored comuter!!:)

never seen a VGA splitter, but that's not saying there isn't one. As for the game/internet. As the way I believe it goes, the second monitor is a continuation of the first monitor. It's just added space of your desktop. So, when you're playing a game, normally, and you click on your desktop, it minimizes the game to you can do whatever. OR...the cursur will stay in the game...like it won't go over to the next screeen. Dunno...what happens when you try????

nothing is even on my second monitor right now and i dont know how to put some of my icons on it

Did you RIGHT CLICK on ur Desktop and goto PROPERTIES, then to SETTINGS and ATTACH the 2nd box?


yest i right clicked and did all the stuff and it is just showing me the wallpaper
 
thats what a second monitor does. To change things up a bit, Do the same things as properties....but below ATTACH, also click PRIMARY, and apply that.
