will prices just keep on going?

just have a question/comment on vid cards these days. Seeing the extreme competition going on betwen nvidia and ati and the new cards popping up. The prices just keep on going. When is it going to stop going up so much?? I mean computers generally are falling in price but video cards havn't dropped that much yet.
 
actually is seems to be quite the opposite, my ati 9600xt that i bought several months ago was $110, but now its only $83, and look at CPU's, it takes forever for prices to come down.

It does seem as time goes on prices on newly released cards are getting higher. Makes you wonder what would happen if there where only one major chip maker eh? Shudder the thought.
 
With that kind of logic though a good Television should cost about a million dollers. How long they been making those things? and TV's and movie special effects just keep getting better :P.

Seriously though it's no good to the companys to raise prices soooooo hight that people cannot afford them.
 
Wow, I know this is unfeasable, but its such a good idea. Imagine staying 2 years behind on technology, it would save you like, 90%!
