Will the GTX 295 not run any games maxed?

care to be civil to regulars, we are having a discussion, not complaining, I think you should read the rules about discussing torrents and that, and saying you aren't going to be paying for games just about violates that

Discussing? I made a simple topic to discuss a GPU, and all your doing is changing the topic and calling me a kid because i refuse to argue with you. You don't like the fact I don't buy games congrats I could care less get back on topic.

I wouldn't get a GTX 295, way overpriced for last gen hardware. A 5870 would be a better choice, if you are asking if you should get the 295 or not. and a thief is a thief no matter what they steal.

I might regret getting it but idk, I'm hoping when the 300 series comes out the 295's price will drop fast so I can use them in SLI.

The GTX 295 will run SLI by itself because it's a dual GPU card.

It's hardly "last gen" also, as it's still debateably the best card you can get.

Sources are saying you will see 300 series cards the beginning of febuary. They actually have a real working part right now the A3 stepping so reports say if everything goes well for Nvidia, 8 weeks from now or about febuary is when you will see the next gen Nvidia stuff on the shelves.

Well knowing Nvidia the cards wont be worth buying until the last 300's come out. They'll make the 300-350's complete shit.

Wow, are you working for nVidia :D We/I still don't know the prices. 10FPS is a lot, in games like Crysis and GTAIV so, yeah :]

My point is why would someone replace there 550$ gtx295 for a 700$ GTX 310 that will only gain 10fps?

No I am talking about probably what will be called the 380(or 385) and also the 395. The 310 is just a rebadged 210 and is a sub $100 card. They are defiantly not going to make a card that can only do 10 fps more than their current card, they are not idiots.

????? Look at what they make, 9500gt thats worse then a 8800gtx, gts 250 thats what 3fps better then a 9800gtx? You didn't see a good card in the 200 series until the 260.

I don't think you understand how the numbering system works. A 9500gt is not equal to the 8800 because the 8800 at one time was their high end part. A 9500 would be equal to a 8500 in it's price/performance segment. The first number is the series generation the rest is what grades the level of performance. The 250 is actually a slightly revamped 9800 and you get it at bargain prices so I think thats a real good deal since 9800's brand new were over $400. They just changed their number scheme from having 8xxx to 9xxx to now 2xx and even newer the 3xx series.

Hmm I didn't know that, learn something everyday.

Dirtbike, will you just be using the 295 for gaming?

Like would you also be using it for video encoding/video editing/photoshop etc?

O, then all the way dude, go ati...

I was going to say go with nvidia if you want cuda and there other software packages, cause i personally like nvidisa software better than ati, but if your just playing pure games, go ati...
