hey couple weeks ago i turned on my PC and i get no signal, but some beep codes...i check my hardware with my other computer and found out it was the VGA (gfx card). now im planning to buy a new one, i found these gfx card that were cheap with rebate:

1) EVGA GeForce 9500GT 1GB (01G-P3-N958-LR) nVidia GeForce 9500GT Chipset (550Mhz) 1GB (800Mhz) DDR2 Dual Dual-Link DVI PCI-Express 2.0 Graphics Card

site: http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_557_559&item_id=023552

*note* there is a 512MB one, but its not on the site.

or

2) ati radeon hd 4650

site: not available on the site, but got in stock

which out of those 2 are good, and compatible with my computer? also if none, then i recommend telling me a card, prefer tiger direct, canadacomputer, best buy, future shop.

PC Spec ATM:

motherboard: asus m3a
cpu: amd athlon 64 x2 4000+
ram: patriot ddr2 1gb (2 sticks)
hdd: western digital 16mb buffer 250gb
gfx: dual screen nvidia geforce 8400 gs
power: Deer 500w

I think that the 4650 will be a bit faster. To replace an 8400 GS, both of them will work fine. They should both also be a good amount faster. Your power supply scares me a bit, though. Keep it away from easily flammable objects.

The 9600 GSO would beat both. What brand is it? Your power supply scares me because of the brand. I've never heard of Deer. No-name brands are likely to die within the first two years, and probably bring the motherboard down with it.

i did research about my PSU and it seems that there are lots of cons then pros. :S getting worried too, though should i buy a new psu? if so whats a good brand?

I think this one might be good for you:

You should ask Bomberboy, though. He's the PSU expert around here. ;)
EDIT: Oh wait, you're Canadian, right? Here you go:

Deer-Don't Use is the first thing that comes up when you google it. I would probably stick with that advice. Just have a look at canadacomputers.com and under power supplies you'll find a good one. Corsair are generally pretty good.
