Will these work together?

Yep your good to go both the CPU and motherboard are socket775 plus your motherboard supports Core 2 Quad so your all set.
 
They will work, but i would higly recomend steering clear of the LGA775 mobos because they are now dicscontinued, so you won't have anywhere to upgrade to. I would say go with AMD due to price:performance ratio and that the chips are cross compatable, so you will have upgradability with future chips

They arent discontinued, but they are almost end of life meaning no new cpu releases. +1 for a Phenom II.

i mean they are discontinued in so much as nothing worth an upgrade will come out, they may bring out a chip clocked slightly higher or with a bigger cache, but it will all still work the same and not as well as i series or phenom IIs :P

Intel have gone of the rails recently and it sucks, when they were happy with 775 they were awesome

+1 for the Phenom II also best you can get for your money they are so cheap right now.
