Well I have absolutley no idea what case to choose for my 1st comp. Here are the parts Im buying:
Processor: AMD 64 Socket 939 3500+
Mobo: MSI "K8T NEO2-F" VIA K8T800 Pro Chipset
Memory: Kingston 1024 MB (512 x2) Dual Channel PC 3200 DDR 400
Hard Drive: Maxtor 160GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Power Supply: Ultra Brand 500 Watt Power Supply (?)
Cooling: No idea, someone please recommend me something
Video Card: x800 XT (Someone please tell me which of the x800 xt's to get, I have no idea what the diff. between the cards are?)
Drives: Basic Sony DVD-Rom
DVD-RW dual layer

Here is the case I was looking at: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-162-027&depa=1
Will that case house everything above and will it run cool enough?
If not, what recommendations for cases do you have? I would like it to stay as cheap as possible and do not want/need any of the crazy design cases (ones with faces and other things)?

I actually was just searching and found this case:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=51063&item=6735546550&rd=1#ebayphotohosting
I dont mind the face too much because it doesnt have a ton of curves and things popping out at you. How would that case perform (550w PS)?

Thank you.

Nice case

I don't see why everything wouldn't go in, as long as the form factor for the mobo and the case are the same, which they are

I would go with the first case. IMO it looks better, and it has the nice temp sensor on the front. As far as cooling goes, just search newegg

What's with the question mark after the psu?

Yeah..

The second case looks too crazy I guess. The PSU...I was also wondering why you have a question mark after it. Maybe you are wondering whether it will be neough...and I believe it will. More than wattage however, look at the rail ratings and stuff. Anyway, otherwise a good combination....especially the graphix. Good luck man...and I am sure the stuff will fit.

JAN :D

Ok thanks. How about cooling? Can someone help me out with the cooling inside the case?

-The ? after the (550W PSU) was just for correct grammar, fyi. :P

Well I dont have that much to spend. That case seems fine, it has a 5 star review on NewEgg...
Whats wrong with the cooler?
What do you recommend then?

that case isnt that good cooling wise and neither is that hsf
I agree with the case but hell no on the HSF.

Absolutey NOTHING. That is one seriously insane cooler ... gsus ... *speechless*

1. WHats the overall budget
2. Whats your preference for noise vs cooling power
3. If its within your means, consider the Chenming 601/602 and a Venus12
4. Regarding power, try and buy the PSU separately (or get it with specifica cases i.e., Chenming, Enermax, Antec ... *not* raidmax)

I had somebody recommend me the following:
PSU:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=17-163-018&catalog=23&manufactory=BROWSE

Cooling:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=35-118-113&catalog=23&manufactory=BROWSE

Whats wrong with the case? It got a 5 star review on new egg from 25 users...
I have about 35 to spend on the case if i buy that PSU and that cooling unit.
So just give me some suggestions on the case for 35 then.

How about this case if the other isnt ok?
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-156-019&depa=1

1. budget = 100 for case, PSU, and cooling
2. Dont know what you mean by that.
Also, anyone know why when I am in my shopping cart at newegg I cant calculate shipping?

I love the case on ebay
The red neon/bubbles w/ the black case is delicious :P
The reason the shipping is 6x more is like all ebay cases: charge less and make it seem the case costs mad cheap and then just crank up the shipping. It all evens out to the same price as a regular retailer though.
http://www.3btech.net/blchmidto21c.html is where you can find it for $39.99 from a retailer which is where I'll probably end up buying it if I decide to buy the case based on the input from the forum (this one comes with a power supply too).

But is the case itself any good cooling and space wise? will it be able to house the parts I am buying?

Thanks.

the heat distrubution looks good but the fan on it looks a lil cheap lookin doesnt it?
Who gives a crap what the fan looks like ... that thing can prolly keep a S478 Prescott cool in the middle of the desert! :P

How about this case?:
Well what about it? I assume you're not asking us for opinions on asthetics.... (i hope not)

Yes you can prolly fit everything (provided you're not trrying to crap 18HDDs in there or something) ... as for cooling you can always make more holes

I dont wanna mess with the case so "cutting" holes is out of the question.
When I say how is this case, I mean how will it do with airflow and housing my parts.

Keep in mind that the comp is stored in an enclosure, so it needs good air flow.

Thanks.

Im gonna get that aforementioned cooler that Praetor loves but I need help choosing a case. I need one with or without a power supply. If it comes with a PSU, I want it to be good. Please recommend me some options. I have $70 to spend on PSU and Case.

That case seems to have a decent power supply and has good looks. What is your opinion on it? If it comes with those fans, would I still need the other cooling unit?
