Hey,

I am looking at buying this computer in the near coming days. I am buying it so I can edit a lot of things in Sony Vegas. I Want to be able to edit some pretty hardcore videos that take up a lot of ram space which the Inspiron 530 my family has simply is not strong enough to do. I also need to be able to edit using Adobe Affter Effects, Fruity Loops Studio 8, Photoshop CS4, and 3D mixer i believe thats what its called. After i edit about 1-2 minutes of video in SOny Vegas on my inspiron with a couple of effects on the clip it starts lagging and I am unable to see what i am editing because it is lagging to badly. Please tell me if this computer will be right for me.
Dell XPS 9000
64Bit Vista
8GB i7-920 Processor
1TB Hard Drive
nVedia GTS 240 1024MB Video Card
and everything else it just stock.

Thanks a ton

PS My budget is around $1500 without taxes. It must be a Dell bought from the Dell Site

Yes, that computer will work. Although, I personally would atleast get an nVidia 260 core 216 video card.
But that there should be plenty for what you want to do.

Thank you. when i am chosing the things i want on my computer on the dell website there are only 3 options for up grading the video card
i can get a
nVidia GeForce GT 220, 1024MB [Included in Price]

nVidia GeForce GTS 240 1024MB [add $80 or $2/month1]

nVidia GeForce GTX 260 1792MB [add $180 or $5/month1]

if i upgrade the video card to the 260 it will cost me a hundred dollars more then what i was aiming at spending. Do you think it is worth upgrading? I am a junior in high school right now and i am going to take the computer to collage with me. I want to major in film design so i will be doing some pretty stong editing in the future. are you sure this computer will be strong enough?
