will this cpu cooler fit?

Im wanting to get this Zalman CNPS7700-ALCU cpu cooler but im not sure if it will fit on this motherboard im lookin to get. ECS PF21 Extreme

It seems like there may be enough room but not sure. the zalman site most recently updated supported motherboards in november of 2004 and newest mobo has a 915 chipset not the 925XE.

I don't think anyone can give you a definitive answer. It will all depend on how much room you have inside your case. The biggest issue will probably be how close the CPU socket is to your PSU.

Thats a general descriptor. Some mobos have issues with that cooler still


PS why that mobo?
 
why not?

really though i thought it had lots of features and good reviews, and all for 141$ i dont see another motherboard beating it with all the same addons and such. i am interested though. if you have a suggestion or any reason that it would be a bad choice.
 
no i wasnt going to be using that processor. lol. i was getting the p4 3ghz 630 2mb l2 cache em64t to go with that board. im selling the computer i have now.
 
if the CPU cane in a box set i.e. came with the CPU and cooling fan as one then it sould fit on the the mobo. but all depends on the casing having enought room to fit the CPU and fan.
 
if its the right specification then theres no reason why it wont fit

Thermaltake Venus12 .. rated for all Athlon64s .... id like to see you put that on a liddless Athlon64-2800 without difficulty (and have it actually fit properly and snugly) :P
