Hey all,

i just bought a 3930k setup and I'm having a little trouble with the ram.

the mobo is :

the ram is:

I had to rma the first mobo. and now i'm working withe the 2nd. I am currently trying to run the ram at 2400, but it keeps on giving me this checksum error and wont boot into windows. but if i dial it back to 2133 everything runs fine. I'm using xmp settings and running memtest. and currently its 12% pass, but moving pretty slow.

will i damage the ram or mobo if i run @ 2133 instead of 2400? do i need to change cas lat? or just set it to auto for 2133.

my harddrive is a samsung 830 ssd 128gb.

thanks

Running RAM at a lower speed won't damage it at all. Running it at a higher speed (e.g. over 2400), on the other hand, can damage it. And the latency should be fine on auto.

If your command rate is at 1T maybe try it at 2T. Maybe try bumping up the memory controller voltage. Could be you have one stick that just doesnt want to run at 2400, could try one stick at a time.

ok once memtest is done. i'll bump up to 2t...if that doesnt work i'll try 1t but a bump in voltage? i'll actually try one stick at a time first

thanks for the help also!
