i was wondering if this psu will for my 8800 gtx. I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE ON PSU's AND HOW THEY FIT INTO 8800gtx's requirements!!!! Please tell me if
this can run it. I also have an E6400 intel duo chip (2.13 x2).

P.S. Will the E6400 (2.13 x2) get a good amount of performance out of the 8800 gtx??????

Despite the seemingly impressive ratings on the individual +12V rails, that unit is only rated for a total of [email protected], which is well short of what nVidia recommends for an 8800GTX. While realistically it should be able to put out enough power, I would certainly not purchase it with an 8800GTX in mind. Apevia/Aspire are known for producing poor quality PSUs.

Just for people who dont feel like reading, these are the specs on the rails:

Code:
DC OUTPUT +3.3V +5V [B]+12V1 +12V2[/B] -12V -5V +5VSB
Max curr 38A 40A 22A 24A 0.8A 0.3A 2.0A
Normal current 24A 32A [B]16A 18A[/B] 0.8A 0.3A 2.0A

I would not try to run an 8800GTX off of that power supply, especially if its also powering the motherboards, drives, and fans.

It is not very efficient under full load either, why buy a 680, when a quality 500-550 will out perform it?

Because everyone think wattage is the most important factor, while it is a factor it is more certainly not the most important.
