Will this RAM work with my computer?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231036

My motherboard is a Asrock P4VM800...

It's confusing because it says DDR and then it says SDRAM.. Help!

What will I have to do to install it apart from sticking it in the slot? I have a 512 stick in there (PC3200 200mhz), and theres an extra slot. Can I put this stick in the empty one or does the bigger RAM stick have to go first? Why does one of the reviews say "These I popped right in, set it to 400MHz and a way she went. Beautiful!!!"?? What does he mean set to 400???

Yes it will work. The full name of DDR400 (PC3200) is DDR SDRAM. SDRAM is just the type of memory (like SRAM or DRAM) it means synchronous dynamic random access memory. And DDR means double data rate which simply means it can transfer data 2x per cycle.

Yes, all you need to do is pop it into the slot, any order should work fine. "Set to 400" means it was set to DDR400 automagically by the SPD programming.

Okay so a 200Mhz 512MB stick and a 400Mhz 1GB stick will work fine or will the 1GB stick be running at 200Mhz? If it's the latter would it be faster to have 1 200Mhz 512MB + 1 200Mhz 1GB or just 1 400Mhz 1GB?

Also, I was examining my RAM slots, and you know like the little nick in the golden pins of the RAM? And how the mother board has a thing in the RAM slot so that the nick gets fit into the little thing (lol excuse my terminology)? Well mine is set up so one has the black thingies on the RAM stick facing to the right (the 512mb stick in this case) and then the other slot is reversed, so when I put in my 1GB stick the black thingies will be facing to the left.. Is this normal?

Hello... The different speeds ?

Okay so a 200Mhz 512MB stick and a 400Mhz 1GB stick will work fine or will the 1GB stick be running at 200Mhz? If it's the latter would it be faster to have 1 200Mhz 512MB + 1 200Mhz 1GB or just 1 400Mhz 1GB?

The 512 and the 1gb stick are both DDR 400. What DDR means is that they both run at 200 (but can read and write) at the same time 200X2=400. Even the 1gb still runs at 200mhz

Theres some bios that call it 400 instead of 200, some have it at 100-133-166-200 and some have it at 200-266-333-400!

Yes, just make sure it's in securely before you turn it on. If it's not seated properly it should be fine but it will beep like crazy at you :P
