Hi peeps,

I have got together this sytem and would just like to know if it should run alright:)

heres the spec

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 90nm (Socket 939)
Western Digital Caviar Special Edition 320GB 3200JD SATA 8MB Cache
Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower (Socket 939/754/478/775) CPU Cooler
Samsung SM-913N 19" LCD Monitor - Silver
XFX GeForce 6800 XT Extreme Edition 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)
Sony DWG120A 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter
Asus A8N-SLi SE nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard
Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2
Corsair 512MB DDR XMS3200C2PT Platinum CAS2

Just a few questions...Is this board alright for overclocking and are there any known problems with it?
Will the ram be alright if I overclock it a little and are these sticks compatible as one is TwinX and one is Platinum.

And I havn't forgotten the FDD as I have a spare that I can use to install the SATA drivers:)

Thanks
:D

Everything looks fine. Nice choice of parts, the only thing I see is if you are a big gamer you will need to upgrade the vid card to a 7800, sooner than you may like to.

1. What's your budget, and what will the computer be used for?
2. I wouldn't get the 6800XT, even though you can unlock pipes, it's really not the best value. Certainly don't get it for the 512MB memory, it's wasted on this card. Better value is the 6800GS, or 7800GT if you're a gamer
3. Mixing RAM will work, but isn't really the best idea, I'd go for a solid 2GB kit, which you can probably get for the same price as the 1.5GB of XMS.

Right Ocuk wont accept my card:confused: even tho another company will:confused:  so im gonna go to kustom:) I have £850 to spend and would like it to be here by tomorrow:p , Im thinking

AMD Athlon64 3500+ CPU
Asus A8N-E PCI-E Motherboard
G.Skill 1Gb ZX Light Blue Alu PC3200
Club3D GeForce 6800GS PCI-Express
Western Digital SATA 320gb 7200rpm
Lite On DVD-RW SHW1635S Dual Layer
Zalman CPU Cooler CNPS9500 LED
Benq FP71G 17" LCD

Altogether this comes to £833.18
I am on a £850 loan from my grandad and I have to pay him back £750 when I sell my current system, if I get more than £500 for it I will spend a bit more after I purchase and probably get another 512MB ram and a 19" TFT!

Simple question comes round again:rolleyes: :p
Is it compatible:)

Thanks

What I would do is spend the money onthe pc and use your current monitor for now. thats at least £150 more to spend and can drastically improve your machine. Thats what im doing :)

don't get 3 of the same ram memories,,, its not cool

get just 2, or upgrade to 4...

number 3 sucks. 1.5gb is not usual...
i would not suggest that unless you already have a stick and don't wanna throw away...
