Will this work later on?

I orderd a inspiron 560 from dell and am going to install 8gb of ram onto it when I get it I wanted to know if a nividea 550 GTX ti will be compatible with the system later on. I know I will need to upgrade the power supply but I ran across something on the web about pcie differences like 1.0 and 2.0

Just want to know if it will work I want to upgrade the power supply and graphics card within about 2months of getting the system so I have a nice gaming rig.

That computer has a x16 PCI 2.0 slot. You're fine. But you will have to upgrade the power supply if you want to add that card.
 
Yeah, that's enough for that card. Be sure to get from a quality brand, like corsair/antec/pc power and cooling/xfx/silverstone/seasonic.
