what are you doing with this, many of these things are pure overkill, and the money save could get a solid state, and a nice big'n too.

What are you doing with the computer? Is it just games or any CPU-intensive programs like photoshop or anything? If it's mostly for gaming, an i5-2500k will do just fine. You won't be disappointed. The main difference between a 2500k and a 2600k is hyper-threading which most games don't utilize.

16GB of RAM is pure overkill. There is nothing you can do that will use that much RAM. You will see no difference going from 8GB to 16GB. No difference at all.

Use the money you saved from changing those and putting it towards a better PSU. 1000W is overkill for your system. I would go with a 750w, and look for a corsair, antec, silverstone, seasonic, or PC power and cooling brand.

And an SSD would be a nice finishing touch to a really powerful computer.

I dont see how it would not work unless your building a Linux Box. Which you said your using Windows, so yeah whats the big question?
