I have a Asus K8N-E Mobo with a Athlon 64 3000+ and I was looking a buying some Corsair Value Ram, not for heavy Ocing, so will this ram work on this Mobo.
Thanks
The K8N-E is a socket 754 mobo, and socket 754 doesn't support dual channel RAM. You can use two sticks, but you won't get the performance benefits of dual channel.
a dual channel kit is basically just a cheap way of making money. They're selling you 2 of the same ram and charging you for usually more. Yes you can run that on your computer, no it will not run in dual channel.
as long as theyre both 184-pin it will work
actually ive found that dual channel kits cost less, i guess it depends on the company. also, dual channel kits give more performance if you have a 939-pin or a socket A motherboard. two sticks = dual channel, of course in his case he has a754-pin.
i made that mistake once, solf mobo and cpu for $175 and bought myself a dual core
now i know what im doing lol
