Will this work?

That’s all the basics that I’ll buy and set up first. Once all of that is running smoothly I’ll purchase the following.

Can the psu easily handle all of that, and a C2D and 2 more RAM sticks in the future?
Can the CeleronD multi task (lagging but not crash) until I can buy a C2D?
The above two links is to be everything except the keyboard, monitor, case, power strip, and a CD burner. I do have a crappy mouse until I buy a decent one.
It’s a $400 dollar budget with a $100 for stuff like shipping. The first link is currently $415 with shipping and the second stays within the rest of the allotment enough.

So what do you think and will it work?

500 watts should be fine, but if you upgrade the CPU to a higher end Dual Core and a higher end GPU then you might want to up the wattage on the PSU. But for now it would be fine.

I doubt I'll upgrade the vid card, but I should go with a 550W psu anyway?

That cpu is $26 more, I'm just useing the Celeron for net, paint, word, Gmud... nothing special except for 10+ firefox tabs open and running the computer 16 active hours a day.

I'm used to crappy computers so as long as Celerons aren't awful compared to a pentium 2 or 3 I might think it's wonderful, I just need my own computer again, and I want a basically all new sytem for a change that is worth the cost and can be upgraded when I get the money.

I've heard intel will change the socket next year. No point to get intel celeron

I will suggest:
CPU: Intel E2140 (better CPU with a little more)
MB: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L (latest chipset, cheaper than the one you choose)
RAM: OCZ Platinum Revision 2 (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2800 (PC2 6400) OCZ2P800R22GK
GPU: EVGA 256-P2-N615-TX GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 (GDDR3 faster than GDDR2)

Daisy's 4 items including shipping: $377.64
^Before $54 in rebates and without psu, and HD.

At the curent psu and HD would bring the total to about $482.64 before the shipping of the HD and psu. If I counted the rebates that would still be around $430, leaving only $70 for shipping and price of anything else, including to ship dead items back. I think that might be a bit tight, and I'd like to go for a better C2D if I'm going to buy a C2D now. I will keep all of your(Daisy's) suggestions in mind for my final decision, thank you for your input, I think I might have a solution thanks to you!
