For Home Basic...
* 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor (I've used a PIII 733 with an early beta, and it was quite slow)
* 512 MB of system memory
* 20 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space
* Support for DirectX 9 graphics and 32 MB of graphics memory (I beleive the TNT2 is DirectX 7)
* DVD-ROM drive
* Audio Output
* Internet access (fees may apply)

actually i dont think it will even do that my friend has a pavillion with a pent 3 500mhz processor and 384 mb of ram on xp and that thing you could go run to rallys before the darn thing loads up from shutdown, or just freezes either or.
and vista is a very graphics intense os it needs some where around 256 for just that and my computer, came with 1 gig of ram 256 shared with the grfx card and with just trillion and mozilla open surfing the net my ram usage would be up to to 85 or higher.

just a ? y would you want to upgrade right now, there gonna be coming out with a new service pack for it very soon and in all seriousness i wish i had xp vista features blow and use so much processor and ram if i had xp this would be one awsome gaming computer seriously.

i had a P3 600Mhz CPU with i think 128MB ram and when i stuck xp on that , it was slower than a post office queue on pension day:eek:

so I would reckon a BIG Nooooooo to Vista in my opinion:)

Just build a new PC. Windows vista needs a lot of power to run it smooth. U would need around 2GB of ram to run it good.

As TOO pointed out, those specs are below the required or recommended requirements. Although it may run with that processor, only have that amount of RAM in conjunction with the other specs, will make it run very slowly.

No way....no i wouldnt try and run Vista on that.

it will take 3 days for the start menu to show lol:D

i dont think Aero would work either.
