I have win xp pro and wanted to get win 7. because it is 64 Bit and will see all of my 4. GB ram.

But I don't have the $ 200 USA to buy it.
I can get the win 7. Home on amazon for 85 USA.

I need it to be able to see my 4. GB of RAM
I need it to have win xp Mode to run my win xp programs.

What is the diferance between win 7 Home and win 7 Ultamit??????????????
 
Ultimate has a few addiontal features like bit-locker for encrypting drives.... for what you're looking to do any x64 will work.

It's gonna be way better than XP!

Say I get win 7. 64 Bit Home and say next year I need Bit Locker can I download it free as an ad on?? and what els am I not goping to get?
 
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows7/products/compare will tell you what each windows version gives you. no, you cannot add bit locker or anything else for free later on, and as far as i know they won't be adding this service.
if you want to run xp programs you need professional atleast for the compatibility mode.
basically home premium isnt going to give you the following:

Run many Windows XP productivity programs in Windows XP Mode.

Connect to company networks easily and more securely with Domain Join.

In addition to full-system Backup and Restore found in all editions, you can back up to a home or business network.

Help protect data on your PC and portable storage devices against loss or theft with BitLocker.

Work in the language of your choice and switch between any of 35 languages

The standard user doesn't need it. Just go with Home or Pro.

Look at the link posted above and compare for which version you need.
