Greetings all - It's been a while......

Windows 7, 32 bit, 1 TB sata hard drive, Plenty of ram, etc...

I keep losing my internet connection and for no apparent reason...

1)......
Cat cables checked and substituted with different cables in case of an internal intermittent break ..

2)......ALL cables into and out of and, inter-connecting cable(s) from modem to router, etc all checked...

3)......I have connected the computer directly to the Internet modem itself and still have problem....

4).....All internal desktop computer fans working and all "surfaces" inside computer free from dust accumulations...

5).....I have a firewall but, shut it down to eliminate that as an issue....

6).....I have installed a new net card and, this keeps happening with the new add-on card and internal
of the computer....I have also disabled" whatever ports for same when not being used...

7).....ok....No viruses in computer...

When I lose my net connection, I have to hit the "troubleshoot" icon in the system tray which will restore the net connection.....

Any ides as to what is causing this?

huh?....have no idea as to what u-r saying...Have published the facts and of course, going through a modem, and in effect, bypassed anything between modem and computer...Wanna try again?

7).....ok....No viruses in computer..
How do you know that for sure??? Windows 7 and earlier was a magnet for getting infected and it was items that Malwarebytes and the regular scanners couldn't remove.

Are you letting windows install the drivers for the hardware or are you getting the latest driver from the manufacturer website?
You might want to contact your internet provider and see if they have any logs available that they can go through to see if the box is dropping your internet for any reason. Do other pc's on the network have the same issue?
