win explorer problems

Hello

The past week or so my brand new msi gt770 has been having explorer issues. Specifically it crashes consistently. I have uninstalled all software that I installed over the past week and ran a virus scan. No dice. Win8, not 8.1. Any thoughts? Ideas? I would rather not have to reinstall everything but if thats my only option then so be it.

I should also mention the the explorer task uses up roughly 20% of the cpu before/during the crash.

Explorer crashing is a windows issue not a video card issue. I would suggest doing a fresh install. You can try doing a system restore back to a day before the crashes started.

sigh. as I said Id rather not have to reinstall, especially since the msi recovery disk is mega hard for me to figure out. System restore has never worked for me. It never creates restore points. But ill give it my best.
 
That is why you can create your own RESTORE POINT while your system works properly so that later you can use it when something like this happens.

It just seems to me like we shouldn't have to put so much into doing that, when I can remember distinctly using it on xp where it WOULD create restore points on its own. How did we go backwards on this?
 
Some programs create RESTORE POINTS automatically during the installation so you can use them to revert back if the installed software made your system unstable.

But NOT ALL PROGRAMS create restore points!

And this is WHY you create your own.
I really don't see what's the problem lol.Creating your own restore point is easy and it takes less than a few minutes lol.

By the way I never EVER use system restore.I have my own way of fixing things lol.But that's just me... :D
