Win Explorer Shortcuts Open In Same Window

OS: Windows XP Home.

In Windows Explorer, I have created shortcuts to various folders and have them accessible through the "Links" toolbar. I have the shortcuts set up to open in an explorer-style window (with the folder view). For example, I have a folder called "Camera Transfers", so the target for that shortcut reads like this: %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,D:\Docs\Pictures\Camera Transfers

Observe:

Here's the problem. When I click my shortcuts, they open up in a new explorer window. How do I make them open in the same window?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. The "Folder Options" box is already checked off with "Open each folder in same window."

Don't forget the "view" settings section for "launch folder windows in separate process" and "remember each folder's view settings".

The problem you may be seeing could very well be due to that being a shortcut to a folder rather then actually being the folder. When you go directly into the folder through Windows Explorer or MyComputer the settings applied should function normally. A target is generally the executable for startup of a program not a folder by itself. Perhaps a simple desktop shortcut would be the best move.

This is not an explorer addon. Anyone can do it. Just right click on the explorer toolbar, make sure "Links" is checked off, and it appears there. Any shortcut that you put in the favorites>links folder will appear there.

Anything you copy into the links folder in "C:\DocumentsandSettings\user name\favorites" should be seen in the links folder in favorites. Have you tried doing that? I just copied a folder of bitmap files right into the favorites in docs+settings with ease. All bitmaps were seen when opening the favorites in IE.

I think you misunderstand what I'm trying to do.

First of all, I'm not talking about Internet Explorer, I'm talking about Windows Explorer.

You see in my picture (above) how at the top of the window I have shortcuts to the folders "Camera Transfers", "Firefox D-Ls", "LS Docs", etc?

Well, they work fine (when I click on them, they'll open up the folder), only problem is that it pops up in a new explorer window, instead of the one that's already open.

I run into that when opening the links in Windows Explorer and seeing the same items as seen in the IE links. When you click on any of those an IE window pops right up unless you already have an IE window open where it goes to the other site. Basically you are opening another browser window when clicking on any item there. The problem is WE's integration with IE.

The way thing I do find that works is going to the view menu on the IE meny bar and clicking on the "go to" items to see the next page load in the same window there. Creating a working shortcut there would be one possible way to see this work. It would be tricky since you can't copy and paste there.
