win Modes help

I know Hybernate Mode will save all work to a file on your hard drive then turn all hardware off till you come back.

What will standby and sleep mode do? will Sleep mode and Standby mode save work to file on hard drive?

I got lost with StandBy Mode.

Hybride Mode save a snap shot of work on hard drive to a file and saves it.

Does StandBy Do this

Standby just freezes the machine the way it is and reduces power so when you turn it back on, it'll come back on instantly.

Well if Hybernate saves an image of your open work to disk and turns harewere off.

And Standby freazses the computer and comes back.

Do both of these keep your open work active is what I ment?

Yes. Video playback however is stopped for both and must be restarted on system resume.

Standby doesn't shut the computer down. It just puts it into a power save mode. A little energy is still used so the computer can quickly come back up. Hibernate saves it as a file and shuts the computer down totally.
