win xp help

so i built a new system, and im using my win xp pro disc i bought a little while back, i had to reinstall it on my new h.d now when i validate windows its saying its a valid genuine copy, but when i try to download the authentication update it doesnt let me. can anyone tell me whats going on?
 
"win xp pro disc i bought a little while back" Did you buy the disk and use it a little while back? If so, you just answered your own problem... You'll have to either contact Microsoft and see if you can convence them you upgraded your computer or just purchase a new copy of XP.

If it activated, and it says its geniune then I dont think thats the problem.


What exactly is the problem your having when tring to download it?
