WIN XP Question

I have gotten a new pc with Win XP on it. I do not use the Microsoft Money 2004 or the MSN Money programs that are included on this pc. Is it safe to remove these programs or would it be an unwise idea? I can free up lots of space if I use the "add/remove" to delete these programs. I just don't want to do it and then find out that I've lost a file or such needed by another program. i've had 2 seperate pc guys to say it's okay, but I figure that 3 is the charm!
Thanx!

Win XP

Thanks!! :)
BTW,
Is it also okay to remove AOL stuff, since I use a different ISP? I use walmart connect (which is thru compuserve)?
What exactly is "Microsoft Works"?

It will not hurt removing "AOL stuff" Actually, it might speed-up your machine ;)

Microsoft Works is a smaller and cheaper alternative to Microsoft Office. It includes a spreadsheet program and a word processor. I think the suite comes with Money and a powerpoint viewer...

So if I take off the Microsoft Works, I can still use wordpad and email pictures with my ISP email? I never use the Microsoft Works that I'm aware of....it takes up LOTS of space. All I do on the pc is surf the web, download Itunes to burn my own cds, use my scanner for putting images on ebay (things I sell), use a printer to print up stuff from internet or word pad. Thanks for everyone's help here! I am toatlly ignorant about pc stuff, sad to say!! :(

And yes, it cant hurt to remove an application you never use :) ...unless its needed elsewhere (like Explorer)..
