Hello

I am reinstalling windows, and when it gets to the part where it says like "39 minutes remaining," i am having trouble

once it gets done to about 34 minutes, it says "installing devices" and then boom, nothing for like 20 minutes, this was followed by a reboot,

whats going wrong?

this isnt the first time ive installed

do you have any Cards in your PCI slots ?
might as well remove them and try again.
cause i remember a guy who had a 4 port USB thingy located on one of his PCI slots which stopped XP from installing, but may not be your case
what about your CD iteself ? is it ok ?

yeah the cd is ok, but i do have all my pci stuff plugged in, if it doesnt work again, ill try it with them out, that would suck if that is the problem, lol

the thing is that windows setup doesnt freeze, it just takes a loooooooonggggg time. It wouldnt be my cd rom would it, i mean, i thought at that point, the windows files were already transferred to the hdd

must've been a fluke..... otherwise i might have figured it out....

the first time i chose to reformat my drive using ntfs "quick", and then it didnt work...

then i reformatted the long way and when it got to setup, it didnt mess up?

oh well

thx for the response
