I picked up this nasty trojan horse through what I believe uTorrent. I haven't used uTorrent in awhile and I wasn't even downloading anything. Everything I do on the interent is completely legal and It wasn't like I was pirating software or anything. I usually go away from my computer and leave it on for awhile, and yesterday night I came back and some bullshit Windows Security menu came up saying that my computer was at risk. You can tell it wasn't legit Microsoft by the text and everything so I quickly hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and found that an application under "Project1" was running in the background. I traced the root directory to be in my System32 folder. Spybot Search and Destroy picked up a Windows Anti-Virus over-ride in the registry entries, and aswell as the Virus itself. I used my Firewall to detect incoming and outgoing connections and it turns out, that It seemed that my computer was infiltrated via a P2P sharing network under a blacklisted IP. I had no clue how this could happen but It did. I have learned my lesson now. No P2P file sharing system is safe, Even if you have a firewall. Like I said. I was just Idle, my computer wasn't running, downloading, or doing anything. I think that people should take my mistake of having these kind of P2P file sharing and thinking there "safe" and seriously think about the risk/benefit of having them on there PC.
