Zone Alarm Security Suite picked it up but can't deal with it... I tried downloading and running the following antivirus software(while Zone Alarm was shut down): Kaspersky, AVG, Nod32 but none of them picked up the plexus.b I'm no guru and can't seem to find an easy way to remove the blighter... Anyone delt with this and know the solution???

Ewido will probably get it, although I'm surprised none of the other programs saw it. ZoneAlarm is known primarily for their firewall, so it may be a false positive. Anyway, download Ewido, update it, then boot into safemode and run a full scan. When it finishes, save the logfile and post it back here.

OK, thanks for the help Buzz... Ewido found and fixed 75 infections...

I saved the report and it reads as follows:

As for a log file, the above is all I could save and I couldn't see anything called a log file. Have I missed something or is this all you required??

That's not what I wanted, it doesn't matter. Is ZoneAlarm still giving you the warning? Just to make sure, download Hijackthis, install it then run and hit "Do a system scan and save logfile". Post the log here.

Download Ccleaner. Unzip it to the desktop. Open the program, under "Internet Explorer" and "Firefox", uncheck "cookies". Run the cleaner. Then run Hijackthis, hit "Scan" and check these lines.

Close all open windows and browsers, and hit "Fix Checked".

Reboot and post a new log. And does Zonealarm say where it's finding this virus?

Zone Alarm gives me part of the location... The small window(even when the page is maximised) which details the location is smaller than the location info... Tried to right click, copy/paste it but it wont let me hi-light the text. Hope that makes sense...

Your log's clean now. I checked that Kaspersky and Nod32 have got this in their database, and they have, if it was there they would have got it, these are the best anti-virus programs out there. I'm certain this is a false positive. It might be that Zonealarm is seeing something in your system restore, turn system restore off, reboot and turn it back on and take a new restore point, see if that works.

Thanks very much Buzz... Shame people like me will never be able to return the favour...

Cheers
