Win8 reboots by itself and updates

Hey guys!

My GF's laptop is being weird, a few days ago it rebooted without asking permission (actually it went black and started up, the process of shutting down didn't happen) and when it boots back up it says configuring windows like when you've just installed updates... We sent Asus a notification about the problem and they to restore the system. I don't think this will do the trick, do you have any ideas what this could be?
 
Also, check for a asus driver updater installed. My asus laptop has win 8 on it and a progrm installed that checks for any new drivers and when it finds them it will download and install. You can change it to let you choose but it restarted on me once but i was working on machine so saw it and then looked into settings and changed
 
What's weird is the fact that the shutting down process didn't happen, it just went dead and restarted. I'll see that, although I've look for settings on auto-rebooting for updates and found nothing.
 
Depending on when it rebooted. I have noticed that mine will sometimes do that and I'm running 7. It will boot up and when it gets to the windows splash screen it will reboot and then install the updates.

It happened at a random time, I think she was using chrome to surf the web and the computer just went black. She pushed the on/off button to start it up again and she got the "Configuring Windows" like when you have updates...
