anyone use media centre edition(mce) here ?
Just wonder does it need a tuner card to work with ?
is freeview built in with mce ?
can mce work with satellite cable ?
 
You do need a TV tuner card in order to watch television. And yes, it looks like you can use Freeview with MCE. Simply plug in your digital tv box into the TV tuner card on the back of your PC.
 
well i got a standard computer with MCE and it works well and runs really well.
MCE is just win xp pro with like 6 little programs added and somethings taken away (like connecting to a domain).
 
Media Centre Edition

I tried to connect the tv tuner card (it's twinhan by the way) direct to the sky disc via coaxial cable but it wouldn't pick any signal up...:(

Do I need an infra red receiver in order to watch sky on MCE ?? If so, what kind of infra red receiver do i need ?

You tried to connect the tuner card directly to the satellite? You need a Sky satellite receiver. Using a coax cable, plug the satellite into the receiver. Then run standard AV cables from the receiver to the tv tuner card on the back of your PC.
 
I managed to tune freeview channels through tv tuner card via antena but I can't set it up in media center player, it just wouldn't pick up any signals whatsoever :(..... I thought if you can tune in with tuner card then you should be able to set it up in the media center right ?
