Window Media Player for window XP

Hi,

I just reinstalled window Xp due to change a new internal hard drive. I re installed Audio, ethernet, VGA.... I have sound for music, but I dont' have video. When i play movie on Window media Player, I heard sound but no pictures at all just the weird picture like the waves of colors. Please help

Yeah that does sound like a codec problem tbh. I just use VLC tbh as it is quick and really easy to use i find wmp to be real slow at times
 
The reason why you don't see the picture is because Windows XP does not have the specific video codecs required to show the video image.
Most of the videos require the simple XvID video codec.You can download it from here:

http://download.divxmovies.com/Xvid-1.3.2-20110601.exe

Just paste that link in your browser and click enter.Download it,install it and then restart your computer.

If after that the video image is still not displayed then that video(s) probably requires another video codec.
