I want to know when this new version of operating system from mycrosoft will come out...
And i wonder what are the different features from the original window xp...
If you know anything about window vista, please share with us.
 
Its suppose to come out the second half of 2006, but knowing microsoft it wont come out until 2007.

the idea of a split personality is that the two personalities are not aware of each other :D

anyway, late this year but like most things it will probably slide to early next year
 
thats an easy thing to say but any new games probably wont run on older versions of windows because they will be made for directx 10, this version wont be compatible with older versions, so games made for dx10 simply wont run.
the only reason they can get old games to run on windows vista is because they emulate older versions of dx to get them to work.
 
wait a few years before buying it, allow microsoft to make some corrections on the thousands of errors/ holes etc before buying it. when it first comes out no matter what you put on it its gonna be attacked like crazy with viruses etc, just like what happend to windows xp when it first came out! lool
 
will there ever be a BETA or trial of it released to the public? as i would like to try it before i buy, but not with someone looking over my shoulder in dixons :P

Well I've tried the Longhorns and Vista Beta, it's fine. To the average user, you won't notice a difference. Just like moving from Windows 98- ME- 2000- XP. There are many XP themes that you can download right now to make your current OS look and feel like Vista. You just have to search for them. I do like the transparent windows/menus. Also the Vista has the tabbed web browser similar to FireFox. There will be a 32-bit version also. But says it'll be "optimized" for 64-bit for best performance. Scheduled for Q4 of this year, most people will start adapting to it maybe about 3 months after it comes out... whenever that is...
 
I can hardly wait for Vista, mmmm... :D DirectX10, imagine the graphics, its going to be like a revolution, the ultimate OS, lol, dont laugh, i simply love windows, BTW-am i the only person here that doesnt have any viruses and spyware on his computer, i scan my comp every day with Norton Antivirus 2006 and Ad-Aware SE Professioal and nothing :confused:

EDIT: i dont have a firewall and im not using any protection while browsing the web

I dont have any viruses, and spyware is only the little things that ad-aware picks up.
 
i dont usually have any, hadnt got a major attack for about a year now, until 2 days ago, but that was due to the surfing of certain "sites"........ i'll let you guess what they where.......
